Hi Kelly-Jean,
That's a great question! I think that for your skin tone, you'd look much better going with a warm brown than with a true black. If you need make tips for your eyes, check out some of these slideshows (they may help):
Please let us know which color you choose and how it works out!
-- Contributed by: Jacqueline DautajI have very, VERY pale skin that is rather red-toned, green veins, grey-green eyes, and naturally reddish-blonde hair (Right now, the hair is blue.) I have no clue whether I'm neutral or cool. I was thinking about dying my hair dark... would a true blue-black work well with me, or should I go for a warm, dark brown?
-- Contributed by: Kelly-JeanHi Samantha,
You may be cool (even though you tan). What color lipstick looks best on you?
-- Contributed by: Jacqueline Dautaji have blue veins but i have dark brown hair and i have brown eyes and i tan easily so what am i?? cool or warm??
-- Contributed by: samanthaHi Natalie,
That's a tough one! It sounds as if a whole bevy of colors look great on you. Maybe you are one of those peole who can wear both cool and warm colors. Have you ever gone to a department store makeup counter? Why don't you try that (you don't have to buy anything)? Ask them what they think (they are usually trained professionals)- they may be able to help. In the meantime, your post will stay up- I'm sure others here can help.
-- Contributed by: Jacqueline DautajI am so confused what undertones i have as just when i think i maybe warm i read an article that says i shouldnt wear a colour being a warm that actually looks great on me? My natural hair colour is medium blonde with golden flecks in; my skin is light with tones swaying towards peach, ivory, cream, i have freckles; dark blue (sometimes grey-blue) eyes, the veins on my wrist sometimes appear bluer but can also look more green; gold looks better but silver is also wearable; I can wear colours from both groups, reds and blues and warm coral shades are colours that usually make people comment and typically cool colours i.e all shades of blue, greys and shimmery cool pinks and purples make my eyes pop as opposed to most shades of brown that make me appear tired, lips i tend to wear glosses for a more translucent colour of red, pink or peach. Does anyone else have this problem and can anyone advise what category I fall into? thanks
-- Contributed by: natalieHi K,
You said that you usually wear pinks on your lips and cheeks- are they cool pinks or warm pinks?
-- Contributed by: Jacqueline DautajHi Jacqueline,
I'm having some trouble as well. I have dark brown hair, olive-brown eyes, and my skin tone seems to vary. I haven't actively tried to tan in years so I don't know if that changes anything. When I did, I would tan everywhere but my cheeks would burn but that might just of been because I wasn't applying my suntan lotion correctly. My cheeks are still a bit rosey now but I usually keep my skin on the fair side. Now I'm just lost all together. The only shadows I use are purple browns, if I use either too cool a color (like blue) or too warm a color (like the wrong kind of orange) it looks terrible on me. I always use a shade of pink on my lips and cheeks. I usually use a bit of eyeliner and mascara (though I don't NEED the mascara). I just want to make sure I know how to color coordinate myself, lol.
-- Contributed by: KHi Natalie,
Don't say that! Almost everyone has trouble knowing their undertone. Okay, so you don't tan, and you have brown eyes. What color is your hair? Personally, you may actually have a cool undertone. Is there any pink undertone to your skin? What colors do you look best in? Do you look better in stark white or ivory? Please write back and we'll try to help.
-- Contributed by: Jacqueline DautajI'm really confused right now about this tone thing! I know that I have light skin, but I have golden or olive(I can't tell the difference) undertone. I have brown eyes, but I don't tan easily. Maybe there's something wrong with me? I feel like I belong nowhere!
-- Contributed by: NatalieHi Jess,
That is fantastic! Thanks that great find with us!
-- Contributed by: Jacqueline Dautaji went to my local drugstore, CVS, and it had this stand for revlon for makeups. there was this transparent chart with different skin tones with a mirror behind it. I just put my face in front of the mirror and saw that my skin matched with Buff Beige or something, then i looked over to another chart where it said beige falls into the 4th shade out of the 5 shades. i thought it was simply genius! so i thought i'd share that to help women who were utterly confused about their undertones, like i was before
-- Contributed by: JessHi Freda,
I would suggest that you go with the current color of your skin tone right now- are you a warm tan or a cool tan? Experiment with colors and see where you fall.
Additionally, try this site called: Color Me Beautiful. Take the test. This will tell you exactly where you fall, and it should help tremendously. Thanks so much for the comment!
-- Contributed by: Jacqueline DautajHello. My skin is tan (reall brown) , but the problem is i used to be pale skinned and i got a tan when i was 6 because my family ran out of sunblock. So now i am tan, but i am not sure if i can get anymore tan or get pale. So i dont know which i catagory i'd fall into.

-- Contributed by: MicaHi Erin,
The best thing you can do is visit a dermatologist to get a full diagnosis. Redness may just be a sign of irritation. Are you scrubbing your face when you wash? Do you pat your skin dry (instead of rubbing with a towel)? Have you recently used any new products? All of these things can affect your skin. Once you visit the dermatologist, you'll know for sure and you'll have a plan to deal with it. Thanks for the question and good luck!
