Hi Dana,

I have several photoshoots coming up. I'm looking to achieve the natural yet beautiful cover girl look. What shades would you suggest as far as eyeshadow, blush, foundation/concealor/powder, and lip color goes?

i'm 23 but look 19-20 and have fair skin with yellow undertone...i have round eyes with moderate creases

Thanks, Tabitha

Hi Melissa,

Are you curling your lashes first with an eyelash curler (you can use either the metal or plastic kind). From there, I want you to consider using a clear mascara (Maybelline has one for about $6 and you can find it here: Walgreen's.

This way, you won't have any heavy "goop" on your eyes.

When it comes to eyeliner, try lightening up on the shade. First, are you using purple or dark colors? If it's not working for you, then try using gold/silver/glittery pencils. That might help tremendously. Also, don't forget to sweep a base eyeshadow color across your eyes before you apply the eyeliner (try a champagne or gold color). Thanks so much for the question, and we hope these suggestions will help!

I have an olive tan skin color and when I wear mascara or eyeliner, it looks horrible. Even Ronald McDonald pulled it off. Any suggestions?

Hi Kate! I am Chinese and I too used to have the same problem with wearing eyeliner. Within one hour, my eyeliner would have transfered to my top lids! Not very attractive! But I have found a waterproof eyeliner that I wear all day without the "transfer". It's called "Le Stylo Waterproof"(Long Lasting Eyeliner" by Lancome. Try it!

Hi Kate,

First, are you using long wearing formulas? If not, try those because they last much longer and don't "transfer". Second, try glitter to make your eyes pop. Try Glitter Powder Indonesia to learn more. Thanks for the comment and good luck!

I have asian eyes and so when I apply eye liner it smears onto my upper lid. I want to apply wild crazy dramatic eye shadows like purples mixed with blues for things such as parties, but it never looks quite as intense on my eyes as on American eyes.

Dear Dana, I am a 14 yr old with have asian eyes, but my eye lids fold over so it's basically touching my lash line. It makes me look so masculine. The only thing I can do is raise my eyebrows a tad so it looks more feminine, but I'm getting pretty tired of doing that, but I don't want to over do the makeup. PLEASE HELP!! Please and thank you. Oh && Happy New Year!!
