Dear Julia, European School of Makeup is one of the worst places to study. I have heard about the most horrible disappointments, gossip and mediocre low paid instructors. I read bad reviews of it, including Google and the only good review seems to have been written by their employees and founders. Don't believe what it says. I considered once, but one of my classmates said she regrets it. In fact, what they offered, was too good to be true anyways.

Just do yourself a favor, and don't go to Cosmix. Worst school ever. I was treated very poorly at this school and watched teachers make fun of other students when they weren't there. And for a school that specializes in Airbrush Makeup, I really thought there would be more than 3 days of it. I really feel like I could have learned a lot more at a different school, but at the time no one posted anything about their time there and now I see why.

Thanks In Advance, Chynna

Hi Amanda,

There's no way to independently know if this would be a good program (there are no reviews of this school). To set your mind at ease, why don't you email them and ask them how you can rest assured that this is a good program. They may be able to send you a list of clients, or some kind of information that shows that they are legitimate. Also, ask them if they are certified or accredited in any way. Thanks for the question, and good luck in your studies!

Hi Everyone,

I have been looking into taking courses to become a Makeup artist. I have found it quite difficult since I live in Alaska and there are not many opportunities here. I found an at home program through Elite Pro but want to make sure it is a legitimate Makeup school.

Thank you, Amanda

I have always had a love of makeup and a talent for applying it. I just never thought I could make any money at it. I now realize that I can with the right schooling! I just wonder if I have to do an online school for makeup how will I learn like the students enrolled in a campus? Also how much money does the average makeup artist make? Thank you, signed Danielle Nichole

I attended Makeup Artist Studio, Inc. in Richmond, VA. It was totally worth my time and money. I learned great makeup techniques, how to start a successful bridal business while persuing my true passion as a makeup artist for television. My first wedding was just like they said. I made $800 in a Saturday, in just under 4 hours. That paid for almost half of my class, wow! I was booked at the wedding by a brides maid for her wedding... Thats real education. If you are looking, I highly recommend it! Good luck Michelle Torres at Makeup Artist Studio, Inc. Keep up the good work!

Hi Andrea,

I'm so sorry that they don't seem to have a school available in Scotland. Have you tried going to the department store and asking one of the makeup people there (at the counters). Ask them all the questions you can think of, like, how do I do this as a career, where did they go, etc. I hope that works for you. Thanks and good luck!
