Hi Latina/Euro,
I couldn't agree with you more! Those women are very beautiful, and all that really matters is what's on the inside anyway. I agree too with what you said about respect. Thank you so much for sharing with us here- we really appreciate it!
-- Contributed by: Jacqueline DautajI too ama Latina/European mix and have lt brown hair and hazel eyes. Many people mistake me for Italian or Portugese...but its all good because those women are also beautiful. My father blonde -Blue-eyed and Fair, My mom Dark skinned and dark eyed. What matters to me is that we are respected and not condemmed as a lower class citizen.

As a woman of color, I can certainly understand your anger. Many seem to have an impression of what certain women look like (i.e., ethnic woman are dark-skinned, and dark eyed). Truth of the matter is, some people just haven't been exposed to all the different skin tones that fall within the groups- perhaps they see one version on television and think that that's what we all look like. We really appreciate you taking the time to share your concerns with us here- at least you are doing your part to change stereotypes!
-- Contributed by: Jacqueline DautajThis article was a bad attempt to include a ethnic group of women that are excluded from mainstream beauty ("blonde, blue-eyed, fair coloring) but guess what? Now, I as a Latina feel excluded too because I happen to be a fair-colored, green-eyed freckled faced Latin that doesn't fit into the Latina ideal model anymore! FYI to the author, not every latina is darked skinned and a brown eyed! Many off us have very light skin and colored eyes! Stop stereotypying how a "Latina" should look like! There is the whole of central and south america to think about (which is bigger than the USA) when generalizing what "latina beauty" is. Nice try though.
