Hi Ann,
That's a tough one, but we've all been there. Okay, for the hairs that are unruly- either pluck them, or try to retrain them with eye brow gel (to train them in the correction direction of growth).
For grays, try using a pencil and a brow gel like that of Revlon's Brow Fantasy- this way, the gel can work to "color" it. If you want to dye them, have it professionally done, because you don't want to risk blindness. Thanks for the question and good luck!
-- Contributed by: Jacqueline DautajI am 48 and my brows are changing into random corse, grey hairs and long curly out of control hairs. What is an aging woman to do? Do you pluck, trim, die these hairs?
-- Contributed by: annHi Sal,
Take a long pencil (or a long makeup brush) and hold it against one side of your nose (so, it will be between the beginning of your brow and the top of your nose). The pencil should be held at the widest part of your nostril (don't "push" your nostril "in"- just let the pencil rest against it naturally). This will tell you where the most natural place your brow should begin.
-- Contributed by: Jacqueline DautajI can't really tell from the pictures, what part of the nose should I use as a reference point? Mine is wide at the bottom and gets narrower as it goes up towards the eyes. Should I use the very top sides of my nose, or the middle where it is a little wider?
-- Contributed by: salHi Sal,
Start at the top, don't worry about the flaring of your nostrils. If you started at the bottom, the brows would end up being too far apart. Please write us back if you have any other questions, and we'll try to help!
-- Contributed by: Jacqueline DautajSo, the bottom of my nose is wider than the top because my nostrils flare out a little. Should start of the brow line up with the bottom or top of the nose.
-- Contributed by: salHi Angel,
I'm so happy this article was able to help you! I hope your brows come out looking fantastic!
-- Contributed by: Jacqueline Dautaji think you helped me alot on just the eyebrows i have trying to shape my eyebrows a certain way but didnt know how to go about it thanks for the pointer
-- Contributed by: angelHi Lucy,
Please see the post I left for you on Eyebrows. Thank You!
-- Contributed by: Jacqueline DautajHi, can you tell me a bit more about how to shape those tufty bits near the nose? I'm waiting for mine to grow back. How do I decide what length they should be and what shape the start should be? And if they grow back in a funny direction do I just pluck in the direction I think they'd orginally have grown in to try to get them back there?
-- Contributed by: LucyHi Sky,
First I'm so sorry that this happened to you. That said however, please know that you are not the first woman who has had to deal with this; many of us have had one eyebrow disaster or another!
You need to use an eyebrow gel that is specially made for the eyebrow. Two sites you should visit is Sephora and Cover Girl. Both of these places have the kind of gel you are looking for. Thanks for the question and good luck!
-- Contributed by: Jacqueline DautajHello. My name is sky. I had perfect eyebrows I maintained myself with half an hour of daily plucking Unfortunately god did not bless me, and my eyebrows as i was born with them completely join in the middle and slightly down the nose
many of my peers began stating it was unacceptable for me to pluck and i must wax
i found waxing too expensive and not really better than plucking
i went to a new place reccomended by a friend the stupid woman has almost waxed my whole left eyebrow off
now the few hairs that have come back are in the wrong direciton.
how can i get them to go in the right direction?
i have tried ultra strong styling wax with an eyebrow comb but it doesnt help.
-- Contributed by: skyHi Christine,
We think she looks pretty too! But, remember, you can achieve the same look by following the techniques outlined in this article. The biggest factor in great brows is where to start the brow and how to keep the look clean. Thanks for your comment and good luck to you!
-- Contributed by: Jacqueline DautajWow i wish you could do my eyebrows. I love the natural look. The blonde girl is so pretty
