-- Contributed by: norhanHi Maat,
Thank you so much for that informative posting! You are absolutely right, from point of origin to the fact that Islam is a religion. Thank you so much for taking the time to contribute that information with us here! We truly appreciate it!
-- Contributed by: Jacqueline DautajThe ancient Egyptians (Kamau people) were African--therefore, BLACK. Arabs invaded Egypt much later than the ancient times and were not of African descent. Muslim refers to a religion--not the people of a race. Muslims can be of any race. However, my point is that Arab population of Egypt today (specially in the north) are not a good reference point of how the Egyptians may have looked. Remember, Egypt in ancient times was a colony of Ethiopia. If you want to know what an ancient Egyptian looked like, you only need to look at persons of Ethiopian descent or central East Africa--AFRICANS of AFRICAN descent(meaning Black, not Arab and not Asian). The most important take away here in the article is the history of cosmetic use. It need not matter that a model was white. The illustration of the use of cosmetic techniques was depicted well on the model.
-- Contributed by: MaatHi Poople,
Which girl are you referring to? No matter, the important thing to keep in mind is that Egyptian eye makeup comes from Egypt which is located in Africa. Many different people with varying skin tones live in Africa. Remember, most Egyptians today are Muslim. From there, we can discern what the ancient Egyptian women looked like.
-- Contributed by: Jacqueline Dautajinstead of rolling a white girl around in gold powder why didn't they just use a black woman?
