Waterproof Mascara Review

So Many Choices

In the mascara market today, there are truly too many choices. Of course, this is the benefit of arriving at a quality makeup website and enjoying the trials and errors of others. Reading waterproof mascara reviews certainly gives you an edge at your next visit to the makeup counter.

For me, the choice was actually rather simple. A sample arrived in the mail from Max Factor, responding to our request for products to review. They must believe in it to offer it up to the editor for a product test. So, at first thought, it seemed to have obvious potential. Max Factor delivered their Lash Perfection, a waterproof, high volume and extreme definition mascara.

Actual Waterproof Mascara Review

After reading the package and diving into my own psyche, I decided that the following conditions must be met to recommend this product to others. After each highlighted condition or claim, I have listed my own personal experience with this waterproof mascara review.

Waterproof Ability

Obvious first question… did this mascara deliver a worthwhile ability to resist water? In every instance, my answer was yes. Nothing beat it. Teary eyes at my daughter’s award assembly, a quick late day shower, even the water play day at preschool, it stayed put.

Long Lasting

Although the Lash Perfection did not smear or run, it did not last all day. Not exactly sure where it went… but as the day went on, the length and volume of my lashes seemed to diminish.

Easy to Apply

Max Factor claims this waterproof mascara’s brush is a breakthrough iFX technology. Not exactly sure what that means, but certainly the brush is different than any other I have employed in the past. It almost doesn’t look like a brush at all. The applicator is a tapered plastic wand with short quills. It does keep the clumps down to a minimum, but also more layers must be added to reach full potential. The tapering does make reaching the tiny bottom lashes much easier and the quill-like bristles allow the lashes to separate cleanly when applying.

Safe

All signs point to yes here. I certainly didn’t have any irritation and Max Factor is quick to note this mascara has been opthalmologically tested and is completely hypoallergenic.

Beautiful Eyes

Although this mascara was definitely waterproof, relatively easy to apply, and safe for your eyes, the final finish left a little to be desired. The end product was only eyes that looked slightly enhanced. I have found other mascaras which offer a stronger lash impact. In turn, the look created by the Lash Perfection was a nice daytime look for those striving for a more natural eye appearance.

Removal

By the end of the day, most of this mascara had worn off. So, a quick swipe with eye makeup remover did the trick, without any hassle.
