Vera Wang has been an established fashion designer for over sixteen years and just recently released her own line of Vera Wang Perfume.

Fashion Designer

Vera Wang has extensive experience in the fashion industry, including a position at Vogue as Senior Fashion Editor for sixteen years and as a design director at Ralph Lauren. She began designing her own line in 1990, focusing mainly on bridal collections and quickly rose to the top as a leading bridal wear designer. Her designs communicate elegant sophistication and she is well known for her use of excellent detailing and exquisite fabrics.

In 1994, Wang gained additional attention for her design of Nancy Kerrigan’s skating outfit for the Olympics. Wang had competed in international skating competitions herself and was able to incorporate that knowledge with her skillful design. She continues to design Olympic skating costumes, including those for Michelle Kwan.

Her extensive experience in the industry, coupled with her fashion connections, helped Wang established her own sense of design as she developed her label. She began with wedding dress designs, looking to make wedding gowns more fashionable than those being mass produced – and in the process, she paved the way for other bridal gown fashion designers that followed.

Using her credibility as a fashion designer, it was easy to make the leap to fragrances. Women around the world wear her designs and she has made a name for herself as a wedding gown designer. With such high profile exposure, perfume was a natural extension of her line. In keeping with her vision of classic elegance, Vera Wang perfumes convey the same sophistication.

Vera Wang perfume is available in a number of scents for both men and women, including:

  • Vera Wang for Women – Described as a modern, floral bouquet, Vera Wang for Women includes rose, calla lily, white stephanotis, and mandarin flower scents, as well as lotus, iris, gardenia, white woods, and floral nectar.
  • Vera Wang for Men – Vera Wang created a masculine fragrance as well, combining green mandarin leaf, nutmeg, leather, anise, sandalwood, and warm tobacco.
  • Vera Wang Princess for Women – Created for the youth market, Princess includes a fun bottle design topped with a royal crown. This fragrance is a sweet, fruity blend of water lily, mandarin meringue, golden apricot, lady apple, floral tones, and dark chocolate, as well as warm woods, vanilla, and musk.
  • Vera Wang Sheer Veil for Women – A clean and light floral scent that includes roses, gardenias, and lilies, yet is never overpowering.

The web site appeals to the young demographic that Wang hopes to reach with her newest fragrance. Visitors can also receive a free sample.
