In a tiny product sample vial I received the fragrance, Vivid, for this Liz Claiborne perfume review and was pleasantly surprised by the strength of its scent. Although I have shopped for Liz Claiborne clothing, I never explored her perfume line before. After wearing Vivid for the past week, I am ready to set out and sniff even more of her selections.

Actual Scent

For me, I love a fragrance that is sweet, but not too young or girly. This Liz Claiborne perfume was some of the best I ever smelled. Although the scent is floral, it is a sweet flowery fragrance you can almost taste. The blend with sandalwood creates a strong perfume base opposed to an expansive bouquet experience. The style of this fragrance is just sweet enough to be feminine, but not so flowery or sugary to be overly youthful.

Throughout the Day

The top notes are my favorite as the most sensual of the whole experience. The middle notes lingered most of the day to create the romance on my skin. The mixture of the warmth and sweetness left me smelling pleasant, but not overly feminine. By the end of the day, the main scent was gone and only the base notes remained. This left a muskier scent remaining. If I had a need to go out again in the evening, I would freshen up the perfume to remove these lasting residual effects.

A final comment on this Liz Claiborne perfume review is to encourage you give it your own try. Unfortunately, it is becoming harder to find Vivid, although most perfume online retailers do carry it. Even if you can’t locate a tester, Vivid is a perfect scent for a mature woman who loves a sweetly, romantic scent. If this sounds like you, then it is worth the cost to incorporate this fragrance into your collection.
