Their signature designer fragrance is known simply as Dolce & Gabbana perfume and was released in 1992. A sweeter smelling scent, it won the Accademia del Profumo’s 1993 award for the best women’s fragrance of the year. Using extensions of the old perfumery process, they created a rich and sweet floral fragrance with aromas of fruits, herbs, leaves and woods – finishing off with a strong drift of vanilla.

Although the perfume is in the more expensive class, it is not as intense as some of the competition. A more subtle scent, it tends to enhance rather than taking over. Categorized as a floral aldehyde and oriental, the scent was designed with a strong-willed woman in mind. Based on the words of Dolce & Gabbana, the perfume was inspired by personalities such as Italian actresses Sophia Loren, Gina Lollobrigida and Anna Magani – all know for their beauty and strength of spirit. With the main notes in jasmine, lily of the valley, orange blossom, ivy, basil, mandarin, sandalwood and musk, Dolce & Gabbana perfume provides a widely feminine and provocative scent.

An extremely versatile and wearable fragrance, it transitions from a casual day environment to the evenings easily. As a lighter playful scent, it is perfect for a dinner party or gala occasion. Best for the middle ages of 20 to 40, with a moderate strength that has a scent life of six to ten hours.
