As nothing makes eyes appear wider, more rounded or sexier than good, skip-proof eyeliner, I’ve decided to do a Cover Girl eyeliner review.
Cover Girl Eyeliner Review: Unstoppable
The Cover Girl eyeliner I’ve purchased is from the Unstoppable label in sapphire. Cover Girl claims that:
- It’s eyeliner glides on effortlessly
- Is water-resistant
- Contains a self-sharpening aspect
Let’s put these claims to the test!
The Application
Thinking of my Cover Girl eyeliner review, I begin the application process. I fully line the top and bottom of my eyes in the cobalt color. Here are my findings:

I love the way the color looks. It’s a true sapphire blue and it looks wonderful!
It may be just because I have brown eyes and that blue looks really good with brown, but my eyes look positively electric. I could also see this color working equally well on black, blue and gray eyes.
There’s no denying that this is long-lasting eyeliner. The color has lasted well over fourteen hours now and is still going strong.
Even though many doctors argue against it, wearing eyeliner on the inside of the eye rim and at the corners of the eye is an extremely popular look. I was pleased that I could wear Cover Girl’s eyeliner on the inside rim of the eye without it running and without the color evaporation. As a word of caution though, try to do this sparingly. It is definitely not worth risking your eyesight over what is beautiful at the moment. |

There’s no way around it, there was definite flaking. Even though it lasted a really long time, flakes have fallen under my eyes, and a dreaded blue line has appeared on its crease. Not attractive!
Along with the flaking, I have its evil twin sister, smudging. Luckily it doesn’t look too bad - definitely more wild night out than deranged bag lady. We have to be thankful for small favors. |
How To Wear It Best
It’s no secret that every woman wants wide, beautiful, captivating eyes. The trouble is, how do we get it? There are some steps you can take to insure that you get a bright, beautiful look.
- First, choose a color that looks great on you.
Brown eyes look great in blues and purples, blue eyes are particularly bold and appealing in blues, blacks and grays, and hazel eyes are bewitching in browns, purples and creams.
- Second, take your time when applying.
Start out slowly and draw the line as evenly as possible. If drawing an even line is too challenging, then draw little dots and then just connect them. Survey your handiwork. Just having the top lined may be enough to get the impact you are after. If you’d like more of an emphasis on the eye, go ahead and line the bottom rim.
- Consider using eye shadows in concert with your eyeliner.
Adding an eye shadow or two to your eyeliner will certainly ramp up the sexiness and impact of your eyes. Consider this look sparingly, as it works best for special occasions like parties, but can seem like a bit much as an everyday look.
- Don’t forget about your eyebrows!
A great eyebrow can make a big difference between a so-so look and a fantastic look. If your eyebrows need some cleaning up, consider getting them done professionally. The results will be very pleasing indeed.
To Purchase or Not To Purchase…
Even with the flaking and smudging, I would definitely purchase this Cover Girl eyeliner. This Cover Girl eyeliner review has shown me eyeliner that is unbelievably bright, brilliant and true. More so, the eyeliner itself has such a long lasting look, it’s perfect for putting on early in the morning and leaving it on until late night.
Further still, at a cost of just over $7.00, there really is no reason not to try this product. You’ll look great!
